I teach at a business school rightly celebrated for sustainability education. (https://lnkd.in/gDKj-9Am). Therefore, I feel especially motivated to emphasize an element of sustainability often honored in the breach. Sustainability initiatives emerging from strategic choices by management often fail to accord employees recognition as full partners. As sustainability’s impact grows, do we continue to place employees on contingent, “zero-hour,” and “just-in-time” contracts? Contingent employment sacrifices security and predictability for employees for other organizational goals. Can we sustain this?

💡 For anyone in my network wanting to gain a better understanding of circularity and how it applies to design process including supply chains should think about signing up to this course by Cameron Price. Circularity must be baked in to products, services & systems - but it's often cursory or superficial (and a teensy bit greenwashed) the world needs more design practitioners to lead authentic circularity by design. This is a purposeful and practical intensive course I wish I had access to when I started my journey!!

Small but exciting news! I've been excited about my Corporate Responsibility studies at Hanken School of Economics since August, and today was an extra thrill—I got into the first-ever Sustainability Reporting course!   While I've been keeping a close eye on sustainability at work, the chance to be among the first to learn hands-on about this topic is fantastic, especially considering its growing importance for many companies this year.   The Corporate Responsibility module covers a wide variety of sustainability courses. Last fall, I completed courses on corporate sustainability and sustainable supply chains. The latter was especially eye-opening, giving me a deep understanding of the global logistics complexities, which is crucial given recent disruptions and the increased obligations on companies from CS3D and CSRD. I like how the courses in the module strongly connect, letting me use my knowledge and skills not only in my studies but also in my job. This connection will likely be even stronger now as I start the Sustainability Reporting course.   The next chance to apply for this study module is in the spring. Our group of 45 students comes from diverse backgrounds, making these studies highly recommended for anyone into sustainability topics. As the weather isn't quite as pleasant as during last weeks, I'm brightening up this post with a photo from my forest walk on the last day of 2023. #sustainabilityreporting

As the final submission for my Chief Sustainability Officer Program through MIT PE is approaching next week, I'm excited to share my latest individual course certificate (probably not the last as I think I'm addicted to learning). The next one will be the piece of paper attached to my graduation (I hope!). The bubble of being a student this last year and a half has been such a great opportunity to explore how this program will support me going forward.
